Today marks three weeks since Elizabeth made her entrance into our world!  In some ways it feels like she’s always been here, and in other ways….well, any new parent can fill you in there. 🙂
We are adjusting to our new life and each day there is a new thrill (and challenge, thrown in for good measure). Â Overall, El is a very good baby. Â She’s easily soothed when upset, and loves to just stare into your eyes when awake. Â I know it’s probably gas, but I swear she’s even smiled a few times. Â We’re looking forward to the real “conscious” smiles to come!
One thing that has remained the same before and after El was born is her fascination with her hands. Â In most every ultrasound, she had her hands up by her face – and she has continued this outside the womb. Â Her hands are very important to her and give her much comfort (especially if Mommy’s taking too long preparing for the next feeding – ha!) Â Check out these photos of El’s last ultrasound before she was born and a photo soon after birth…

The other constant is hiccoughs! Â After most feedings, you can count on Elizabeth to have a few minutes of hiccoughing – one of the cutest sights ever. Â It doesn’t seem to bother her yet – I guess she’s used to them. Â When I was pregnant, I could feel her hiccoughing at least twice a day. Â It was a gentle reminder that all was right inside – and I looked forward to feeling them. Â Funny how some things remain the same!
This weekend we’ll be documenting El’s first bath – so more to come soon. Â Wish us luck!
