Elizabeth didn’t even have to speak – she had us at her very first smile.

They say when your baby first smiles at you, that you’re officially gone – a slave to your little munchkin for life! I have to agree. Two weeks ago, El was lying in my arms when it happened. She looked up at me, intently staring, and then slowly lifted one side of her mouth and then the other into the most adorable baby smile ever. It was deliberate – especially for me – a sign that she knows her mommy and that so far, she approves of all my hard work (thank goodness for that!)

Each day since, the smiles keep on coming. There’s the “grin” smile, the “full on” smile where her eyes light up, and the open-mouthed, gummy smile that I’m sure will soon be paired with a laugh or giggle.  We’re enjoying each smile as it comes and looking forward to many more!
