We’re a little overdue for Elizabeth’s 6 month update, but suffice it to say we’ve been busy, busy, busy the last month! I’ve taken on more responsibility at work, and when I get home it’s all about El and family time till her bedtime.
Our baby girl is growing fast – weighing in at just under 16 pounds at her 6-month check-up. It’s nearly impossible for anyone but JR to attempt to carry her in the car seat nowadays (it’s definitely an arm workout.) We’re still enjoying toting Elizabeth around in the baby Bjorn though. She loves to look out and discover new places and faces.
The biggest milestone this month has been sitting up. She seems like such a big girl now and I know crawling will be next…..
Solids continue to go well and avocado remains the clear favorite, followed by mango, squash and banana. El tried hummus the other day and liked that too. I think she’s going to be a great eater! She’s also mastered drinking from her sippy cup, and can even take small sips of water from my glass.
And for those that know about our struggles with the bottle – well it’s been an uphill battle but El has finally caved and will take it…most of the time. I can’t tell you how helpful this is – now I can rest a little easier when I have to be away from her for work.
Oh and one last development just this week – our baby girl is cutting her first two teeth! She had a very fussy day last week and I couldn’t figure out what was wrong, until the next morning when I felt a sharp little bump in her bottom gum. Then it all made sense! Poor thing – Mommy’s still learning. Elizabeth will fully train me soon enough.
Enjoy these 6 month photos…
