We had a real scare the Saturday before Christmas when Elizabeth ran a 103 degree temperature. I immediately called her pediatrician and they told us to take her to a pediatric urgent care. After checking her temp again and examining her ears and throat, the doctor determined that El had tonsilitis! (Uh oh….I used to get tonsilitis all the time when I was younger. I’m hoping she doesn’t follow in my footsteps on this front.)
We had a couple rough days of high temps and giving meds around the clock to lower the fever, but finally by Christmas Elizabeth was feeling a lot better!
Here’s a pic of our little sick pup trying to sleep off the fever….
And a follow-up pic after the worst was over – out and about in Hyde Park Village!
Or so we thought….little did we know the whole fam (grandparents included) would get hit by a cold, sinus infection and bronchitis just a few days after Christmas. Not the start to the new year we were hoping for… A few weeks have passed now and we’re all in much better shape – and we’re more grateful for being healthy than ever before!
I’ll post a full update on Christmas soon – but I hope you all enjoyed the time with your friends and family (sick or not!) Happy New Year!
