Smash cake time!

And finally, it was time for the birthday cake!

This entire past year we’ve been very conscious of sugar in everything Elizabeth eats.  So this birthday cake was truly her first experience of a really sweet dessert.

I wondered what her reaction might be….and this proves that the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.  Once she got a taste of the icing, it was game on! 🙂
