On Tuesday we headed for Normandy, but not without a detour to Giverny to see Monet’s home and gardens. This was on my wish list so I was thrilled we could make this stop.
The gardens did not disappoint!
On one side there are rows and rows of every color of rose, along with many other types of flowers that I don’t know the names of (hey, I’m not a gardener). Monet actually landscaped these gardens himself, although I’m sure he had help.
The second half of the garden is filled with ponds of water lillies, quaint bridges, weeping willows, and bamboo forests.
It’s hard to pass this scenery and not want to grab a paint brush and easel yourself.
