Charlotte and I are recovering from a cold, hence my late blog post for her 6 month bday.  We’re on the upswing now and hoping we’re good as new in time for Thanksgiving festivities.
The last month was a busy one as Charlotte began to perfect the art of sitting up.  In just a few week’s time, she went from sitting up for short periods to now almost always being able to balance herself.  I still keep a pillow or boppy behind her just in case, as her sitting up skill has coincided with sometimes throwing back her head to see what or who’s behind her.
During the work days, my parents keep her very busy in between naps, with play time in her jumparoo and activity seat, stroller walks outside, reading books, and lots of cuddle time. Â Charlotte continues to have no problem expressing her excitement when she’s enjoying an activity. Â Our house is often filled with her squeals of delight. Â She’s a very smiley baby too. Â There’s nothing better than starting the day with Charlotte’s smiles and Lizzie’s hugs and kisses.
Still no teeth, but lots of chewing going on with whatever Char can get her hands on.  We also started solids this month.  We’re about a month in and she’s tried a variety of foods so far, including sweet potato (her first food – just like her sissy), banana, avocado, oatmeal, peas, plums, apples, and butternut squash.  She’s really taken to food – a lot faster than I thought she would.  She loves sitting in her high chair and eating a meal like a big girl.  We’re already up to two servings a day – usually at lunch and dinner time.  We’ve also introduced the sippy cup and she drinks a little water with her meals.
Halloween was a blast with these two muchkins.  I’ll post some photos soon of our family shenanigans.  It was definitely one to remember with Kerry and Ryan in town, and our first Halloween in our new neighborhood.
Hope you’re all enjoying the fall. Â Happy early Thanksgiving!
