Our summer adventure has begun…we left Tuesday at 9 am EST from Orlando and finally made it to Bellagio in Lake Como on Wednesday around 5 pm local time (about 11 am EST).

No, your eyes didn’t deceive you…that was about 26 hours of total travel time on about 3-4 hours of sleep. That wasn’t quite the plan, but a landslide near Veranna (where we were supposed to take the train from Milan) diverted us to another longer route. However, spirits were high and after a plane, train, and bus ride, we made it to the “jewel of Lake Como.”

The town is very charming with lots of cute shops and restaurants – and the views are spectacular in every direction.
Thursday – after a good night’s sleep – we explored the town, enjoyed our first Italian appetitive and first bowl of pasta, and let the girls test out the cool waters of Lake Como.

Today, we took the ferry to Villa Carlotta – just across the lake. We walked through the beautiful gardens with all types of species of plants, and then meandered through the interior of the villa, which was a wedding gift to Princess Charlotte of Prussia (Carlotta in Italian) in the 1800s.

We’re looking forward to one more day in this lovely region of Italy, then it’ll be on to Verona this Sunday. Arrivederci for now! 🇮🇹❤️⛴️
