Our last few days in Banff were capped with several more beautiful hikes.

These pics are from the Tunnel Mountain Hoodoos trail. After a short ascent to the hoodoos lookout, you follow a ridge trail along Tunnel Mountain as you take in stunning views toward the town of Banff. It was a nice easy hike with rewarding views. At the very end we also saw a scruffy little fox run through the parking area looking for his next meal.

After the hike, we enjoyed a yummy Mexican meal in Banff. And, we couldn’t resist doing a little more shopping.

Our last full day in Banff was my first day not working remotely – woohoo! It felt great to wake up and finally ease into “vacation mode.” We made our way on the Bow Valley Parkway to Johnston Canyon. Along our route, we got up close and personal with a few bighorn sheep grazing on the side of the road. We were very interested in them, but they were quite nonplussed by us… as it should be. Ha!

Johnston Canyon was a really neat hike. You literally walk along the walls of the canyon and there are multiple waterfalls to check out. Being inside the canyon really illustrates the power of water and erosion over time.
We walked the entire trail to the upper falls where there are several lookouts that give you an intimate view of the waterfall’s power, including a cold icy spray to rejuvenate you for the return trip. This is a must do hike!

Next up… Jasper National Park and a memorable hike on the Athabasca Glacier!
