El’s 3 month update is a little late because I wanted to savor every moment of my last week of maternity leave. I’m officially back at work now and I have a 3-month-old…my, how life changes!
3 months is an exciting time – there have been lots of developmental milestones. Elizabeth can now bring her hands together. Once this is accomplished, she immediately tries to insert said hands into her mouth. Hands in mouth used to only be a feeding cue, but now it is entertainment for her (and us) too!
Along with bringing her hands together, she is also working on reaching out and grasping items. We dangle toys in front of her and watch as she first focuses and then swipes at it. Sometimes she’ll even grasp it – and again, where does that toy go? You got it – she does her best to put it in her mouth.
She is FULL of smiles lately, and will engage in more “conversation” with cooing. Her eyes light up in recognition of Mommy and Daddy (the best feeling in the world!) She is liberal with smiles for her grandparents and I’ve even caught her smiling at her big bro Baxter!
Elizabeth has always enjoyed tummy time, and now she’s getting really good at it – lifting her head much higher and even using her hands to lift up her chest.
We don’t have another pediatrician visit till 4 months, so not sure how much she weighs – but she’s definitely gaining weight and getting longer.
Enjoy these pics of our happy baby girl….
