El’s first Turkey Day

We had a great Thanksgiving holiday this year in Orlando with our own “little turkey!”

We started the day off with the Turkey Trot in downtown Orlando. It was a chilly morning with temps in the low 30s so we tried to bundle up El as best we could. My dad found a double bike stroller that El rode in the whole way….until the very end of the 5k when she decided she’d had enough. 🙂

After our brisk start to the day, we headed home to get cooking! Dinner was delicious with a scrumptious turkey, salmon, cornbread dressing, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, roasted butternut squash and red peppers, rolls and cranberry sauce. El tried much of the feast and seemed to enjoy it.

This year we were joined by some special guests – along with my parents, sister and her fiancé, cousin Matt and family friend Bob – we also hosted Kerry’s former roommate at Yale, Lupita, and her family. It was the largest group we’ve had together for Thanksgiving in a long time and it was a wonderful mix of people. We really enjoyed spending the day together!

I hope you all had a memorable Thanksgiving too. Here are a few picture highlights from the Turkey Trot…

Elizabeth was all warm and toasty under this blanket.
