Well it’s almost Elizabeth’s 1st birthday and I’m finally getting around to writing about Christmas! As you saw in my last post, we’ve had a crazy start to 2014…
We were lucky to have Rick and Carol in town for the holidays, so we kicked off the festivities with a trip to the Largo Botanical Gardens to check out the holiday lights. Even Baxter joined the fun! We met Melissa and James there. Baxter and Charlie – their new lab puppy – met for the very first time. It was crowded at the gardens, but still great to be together and enjoy the beautiful lights!

This Christmas was our first time hosting at our home. It was great to have both sets of grandparents with us, but we definitely missed Kerry, Erin Mary and the rest of the fam! We continued the Heffy tradition of chili on Christmas Eve and a big brunch on Christmas Day. After brunch, we had a White Elephant gift exchange and opened our presents. Elizabeth loved tearing into her gifts – and of course, all of the boxes were a big hit. 🙂 Later in the day, we had a delicious Christmas dinner, complete with JR’s favorite – a honey baked ham.
It was a very relaxed holiday, and we have sweet moments to remember for Elizabeth’s first Christmas!
