We made it to France! Our first travel day was long and tiring, but I think Lizzie handled it the best of any of us!

We started with a connecting flight to JFK where we met Kerry and boarded our flight to Paris. 6.5 hours later we landed at Charles de Gaulle airport. Despite a dicey moment where Lizzie kicked my mom’s tray table and spilled red wine and hot tea on her lap (eek!), she did very well and even slept for about four hours. She woke right before we landed and was all smiles!

We met up with my dad’s cousin, Ken, and his wife, Marilyn, after we landed and waited to board our TGV (high-speed) train to Aix-en-Provence. Yes, our day was far from over!
Lizzie loved sitting on her auntie’s lap on the train and checking out the lovely pastoral scenery. And she even took a two-hour nap!
After our train arrived at the station, we rented a car and finally made it to our villa for the week (we only got lost a few times on the way there – ha!)
It was a long day of planes, trains, and automobiles, but we were all in it together! After settling in to our new home for the week, we all crashed that night by 10 pm. The next morning this is what I found…
