Bonjour! It’s been a while since my last post, but rest assured it’s not due to lack of content. We’ve been busy in Paris with lots of sightseeing and now we’ve arrived in Normandy but our b&b is sans wifi. Which is why I’m currently sitting in a McDonald’s in Bayeux…something I would normally cringe at the thought of, but I must not keep my fans waiting any longer (and I must say this is a really nice McDonalds). 😉

Picking up where I left off…on our last day in Provence, we capped off our week with an afternoon of wine tasting. My wonderful hubby stayed at the villa with Lizzie so that our original family unit could do some family bonding over the grapes of the Luberon.

We visited three wineries or “domaines” and explored their whites, roses (my fave), and reds. Jean Paul was our guide at our first stop, a beautiful chateau set admist a forest. We were very impressed with their selection, especially the boxes of wine they sell (who says boxed wine isn’t fancy?!)

While we weren’t as impressed with the wine at our second stop, that didn’t stop us from buying a bottle. We quickly learned that there is no such thing as a bad wine in France!

After stopping in the village of St. Canaat to pick up meat (from the charcuterie) and bread (from the boulangerie) for our last dinner in Provence, we made a final stop at an olive orchard and vineyard combo. Rodolphe was a delight and gave us samples of the olive oil (smooth with a spicy aftertaste) and wines. 

Afterwards, we meandered through idyllic villages on our way back to Les Milles for our final night at our Provence home. 

Next stop, Paris!
