Leaving for Lisbon

Olá! On Friday night our trip to Portugal began. We took an 11 pm flight to Paris then connected from there to Lisbon.

With such a late flight leaving from Orlando, we expected no service till closer to landing and more time to sleep – but alas, dinner was served right on time… at 12:30 am! Well, if you can’t beat them, join them, right? We all enjoyed our second dinner of the night (chicken and rice or pasta) then promptly crashed for a few hours.

At 5:30 am Orlando time, it was rise and shine with a breakfast quiche right before landing. I fueled up with a coffee and thank goodness because the rest of my crew was a wee bit groggy.

First flight leg complete!

We made our way to our next gate at Charles de Gaulle airport (after a disappointing stop at the Air France lounge where we found out my mom is only allowed one guest at partner lounge) for the connection to Lisbon. Another coffee and croissants for all and we were ready to board!

The last leg of our trip was just a 2 hour flight to Lisbon – easy peasy after the 8+ hour one earlier. Properly caffeinated, we arrived 6 pm local time to Portela airport ready for our Portugal adventure to begin (and excited for the sleep soon to come – ha)!

Landing in Lisbon after 15+ hours of traveling – let’s goooo!!!
