Girls Day Out in PEI

As you can probably guess, I’m back in Orlando now… We’ve actually been back for about three weeks. But I am bound and determined to finish out my blog for this trip. 🫠

Back in PEI, we had our first full day to explore the island. JR was working so all the girls headed out for some fun.

And fun we had! My sister and I found this charming restaurant called The Dunes Studio Gallery & Cafe, which was only about 20 minutes from our Airbnb. The wonderful restaurant also included an artist studio with lots of unique pieces. And, the spectacular gardens in the back are a “must see.” Let the photo shoot commence!

After lunch, we made our way over to Brackley Beach – part of Prince Edward Island National Park. The beach was stunning with rolling dunes, gnarled driftwood, and gleaming bits of seashells washing up on shore. It was very windy, but we still enjoyed a nice beach walk. It reminded me very much of the beaches in Cape Cod.

Before heading back to Charlottetown proper, we made one more stop at the Prince Edward Island Preserves Company in New Glasgow, famous for their handcrafted jams, jellies, marmalades, salsas, and chutneys. We definitely got our moneys worth with the free in-store tasting samples. Haha! My fave: black currant and the pear + prosecco jams!
